ORM2_Draw2 version 1 has been upgraded for easier use of mandatory-role constraints: it now supports adding, removing, and repositioning of the constraint from the role-connector's context menu.

The ORM2_Draw2 Visio stencil for ORM diagrams is an updating and upgrading of the ORM2_Draw Visio stencil which itself resulted from ORM stencil development by various people, including Peter Ritson, Terry Halpin, and Andy Carver. It is an updating in that it updates (for Visio 11, 12, and ff.) the Table shape, and includes the deontic constraints and value-comparison constraints. It is an upgrading in that it adds built-in shadowing (for fact types and object types), built-in text-arrows (for fact types), built-in constraint-connectors, and some adjustable-arity fact types, as well as several relatively minor upgrades and fixes, including a frequency constraint.

Version 1's stencil (.vss) and template (.vst) files were created, based on ORM2_Draw, during the Winter of 2008-9, by Andy Carver with the help and supervision of Dr. Terry Halpin.  The files have been tested and used pretty extensively in both Visio 10 and Visio 12. A readme.txt file is included.

Latest readme.txt file version: 11/23/09.

Excellent stencil. It's nice and light-weight -- perfect for when all you need to do is document a model. There is, however, a major bug: You cannot connect an external mandatory and/or exclusion constraint to a subtype connector. The following is my workaround (for Visio 12). 1. Click the icon in the stencil title bar, and select Edit Stencil. 2. Right-click the SubType shape, and select Edit Master > Edit Master Shape. 3. On the Menu Bar, enable View > Connection Points. 4. On the Toolbar, click the drop down next to the the Connector Tool, and select the Connection Point Tool. 5. Position your mouse in the center of the shape, hold down Control, and Click. 6. Close the shape window, and click Yes to Update the shape.
