Visual studio community 2013 - Free visual studio that supports NORMA

    Hi,

Great news I think; Visual studio community 2013 (link below) is a free version of visual studio with the features of the professional edition. It supports NORMA (just tried it, works like a charm).

     Hi Karl,

    That's great news indeed.

So now anyone with an up to date Windows PC can use NORMA and get the benefits of object-role modeling.

I'm running Visual Studio on Windows 7 Professional.
Have you tried it out on Windows 8.1?

    Ken

Re: Visual studio community 2013 - Free visual studio that supports NORMA

Last year, I bought a new top-end Dell desktop to use as a development machine.
It was delivered with Windows 8.0 - which I found to be very hard to use so I got rid of Windows 8.0 and installed Windows 7 Professional.

The retrofit took the best part of a day - even with help from Dell.

I try to minimize the time I spend on technical maintenance and on rewiring my head to adapt to new UI paradigms because I'd rather use my time for productive work. So I have not installed Windows 8.1.
I'm hoping that Windows 10 will take us back to a Windows 7-like UI but I have not spent much time looking at the details.

    What's your view on this

Does Windows 8.1 have real benefits over Windows 7 and if so, what do you see and the most important ones?

    Ken

    Hi Karl,

Thank you very much for this information! This saves me some hundred euros ;-).

    Kind regards,
