I have my project saved on a USB pen drive so that I can work on it from both my PC at the office at home.
The pen drive is mapped at E: on both machines.
In Visual Studio > Options > Projects and Solutions, Visual Studio projects location: is set to
E:\Visual Studio 2005\Projects
Thus, my project is located in
E:\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\My_Project\My_Project.sln
When I create a new .orm file in my_project.sln and save as, its location defaults to:
E:\Visual Studio\Projects\My_Project\ (as expected)
.cs files, including those generated from a .orm file end up in:
E:\Visual Studio\Projects\My_Project\My_Project\*.cs , My_Project.csproj
as long as I save, close, and reopen the project on the same machine, all .orm and .cs files open with the project.
But when I move to the other machine, only the .cs files open; the .orm files have to be added back into the project again. this happens each time I move to the other machine.
Is this a problem with Visual Studio, or could it be a problem with the NORMA extension?
Right now this isn't a huge problem, but when the project accumulates a lot more files, it is worrisome.
This is also probably the appropriate time to ask about Options > Projects and Solutions []Prompt for symbolic renaming when renaming files. What does this do and should it be checked?
Suggestions welcome.
