  • RE: Would graphic indicator of page origin he

Hi, Thanks again for inside knowledge. I can see how not tying an element makes sense (as a page is an artificial device for human readablity, not an intrinsic part of a conceptual model). Would a first instance indicator be a more appropriate way to select the segment of the model to use when editing an element? In any case, don't get ...
  • RE: Would graphic indicator of page origin help?

There is no page affinity between an element and the diagram it was created on. We will provide feedback in the model browser to let you easily get at shapes that are displayed on no diagram. Adding a menu item to jump to list the (other) diagrams that the element is displayed on, as well as a way to jump to the corresponding element in the ...
  • Would graphic indicator of page origin help?

Hi, Take a look at an ORM model using mutiple pages to divide up the domain facts, and you notice shadow graphics around an element that is referenced in another page. One problem could be that there's no way to tell on which page the element was defined (other than scanning the pages, or maybe if they had the element name in the page name). ...
  • RE: IsExternal - multi model usage?

Hi Matt, Thanks again for news from the front. No grips with your priorities agenda - think that will bring a, somewhat limited, production-ready tool closer to completion sooner. Thought it likely that IsExternal was a hook for later expansion, and that's fine. BTW, are you targeting MS SQL Server 2005 as for the first complete DDL - seems ...

  • RE: IsExternal - multi model usage?

IsExternal was in the original metamodel and was thrown on as a property on ObjectType and FactType. There is nothing backing it at this point. We had some in-depth discussions last quarter on cross-model referencing and it is definitely something we want to do in the near future, although it probably will not happen until Spring quarter (live ...

  • IsExternal - multi model usage?

Hi, I see that Objects and Predicates have an IsExternal True/False property. If this for reusing model segments in seperate ORM models? I believe that was the term and feature in a Visio ORM tool beta I used years ago, and that allowed portions of a model defined in one ORM document to be reused in others. Very nice feature, unless you ...

  • RE: What is IME? (Rt click in ValueRange)

Hi Matt, Thanks for the explaination - I'll also keep that in mind (about some items in NORMA being artifacts of the non-NORMA base frameworks. I'm guessing that sort of thing will show up more on a Rt click/context occurance. BRN..

  • RE: What is IME? (Rt click in ValueRange)

An 'Input Method Editor' is a tool for composing characters from multiple keystrokes and is generally used when inputing characters from languages significantly more complex than English (think Japanese, Korean, etc). The availability of IME editing is dependent on your system settings. The NORMA team has done nothing to explicitly add IME ...

  • What is IME? (Rt click in ValueRange)

Hi, Rt clicking in ValueRange properties field offers option to ''Open IME''; and if you click to do that, it offers to ''Close IME.'' Can't see that it does anything, and don't recall IME being mentioned before. Is this an artifact of development work, a future feature or something that is useful now? I.M.E.? Incongruous Metadata ...

  • New features in 12-2006 TCP

Hi, Just started to experiment with the new TCP. I do like the ability to rotate and reverse roles in a predicate. Together they should make it easier to arrange a model to display well on all sides of a central object or FactType. The way notes are displayed in verbalization is well done too. That will help me to recall why I chose to do ...
