    NORMA Lab 4

     Hi all

I have a question regarding slide 25 of Norma Lab 5 Update. Date(mdy) shows a start date and an endate in separate square brackets. However, I am having difficulty trying to generate them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jeff

    BTW, the tutorials are GREAT!

I assume you mean slide 25 of Lab 4. The square brackets are around role names. NORMA automatically adds the square brackets when you enter the role name.  To add a role name, right-click the role box and enter the name in the Name property.

    Cheers

     Hi Terry

I see that the name property is not editable. Is that because the role was created in the fact editor and not by dragging a binary fact onto the page?

     Hi Jeff,

This works on my system (VS2015 Community Edition)

This is the procedure that I used:

    Open the properties window (F4)

    Right click the role name.
Go to the "Name" property in the Property Sheet.
Edit the value adjacent to "Name".

     Problem solved!

I was highlighting the entire fact type, rather than the right side box associated with the object, in this case Date(myd) . I went back to Terry's book on Object Modelling to realize the meaing of role in this instance.

    Thanks Terry and Ken!

    Jeff
