 After downloading the install package, unzipping, and clicking the setup.bat file, I see this error:

I have VStudio 2017 - could that be the problem? 

 Each version of NORMA is specific to the  Visual Studio version so NORMA for VS2015 will not run under VS2017.

 Expounding on this VS2017/VS2019/VS2022 versions of NORMA all install through Visual Studio Marketplace. There is no longer a separate download and traditional msi setup install.

1. Open the Visual Studio Extensions dialog (Tools/Extensions in VS2017, Extensions/Manage Extensions in VS2019 and VS2022).
2. Select the Online section on the left of the dialog
3. Search for NORMA
4. Among the results you'll see Natural ORM Architect and Natural ORM Architect (Per User). Select either package and click More Information for a discussion on the differences. Basically, Per User installs without admin rights and can update automatically, but you need to make an extra click to get IntelliSense help if you ever look at NORMA files in the XML editor. Just pick one package (do not install both).

Having issues starting a new .orm file     When I choose File/New/File, I see a list of options, including these two options:  Object Role Modeling (DB import) and Object Role Modeling File   I choose the second one, yet no blank Document window appears; however, I can do File/New and choose other filetypes and get the blank Document window

I did uninstall and reinstall Norma to no avail  

I am using Visual Studio 2022 

Suggestions on what might be the cause? 

 Which version of NORMA are you using?

When I look in Visual Studio, under Manage Extensions and search by Norma, I get four items found

On the item which has the green checkmark, to the right it has the following:

OK - This seems to be a version recently created by Matt Curland.
You will have to wait for Matt to respond.

Showing both flavors of the tool (Per User and the All Users admin-installed version) is problematic. The Marketplace writeup on the extensions makes it very clear this is a really bad idea (click on More Information in extensions, which also tells you the difference with the Per User version). It appears the VS team does not have schema writers with a solid foundation in ORM because they allow subset constraints in the package manifests (package X requires package Y) but do not support exclusion constraints (package X cannot be installed alongside package Y). This is really what I needed with these parallel versions of the tool, but VS simply doesn't make it available.

 What I would recommend:

1. Uninstall the Per User version and restart VS.
2. Uninstall the remaining NORMA version and restart VS.
3. Pick ONE version from Marketplace.
4. Make sure you had a clean installation.

 Even after doing all that, I still can not get a blank File/New/File/ORM to appear.  All the other file types work when I ask for File/New/File/xxx

Would you by chance know if I could use a DaaS environment as a possible alternative to getting this to work?
