Visual Studio 2015 Community "or above"?

The only Visual Studio Community edition I could find was VS2017, which is installed and runs. I hoped that would work because "...or above". However both PLiX for Visual Studio.msi and Natural ORM Architect for Visual Studio 2015.msi fail to install with the dialog box requesting VS2015.

I have  been unable to find a VS2015 install file. Is there a workaround for VS207? Or would someone have a URL for VS2015?

    Thanks,

     Thomas

     Hi Thomas,

NORMA has not yet been updated to run with Visual Studio 2017.
Matt has said that he will do it but has not given a date.

In the meantime, I found this link for the VS2015 download.

     Thank you Ken,

The key seems to  be to become a subscriber to the Visual Studio group, then download. I've done that, and VS15 is now installing itself.  Thank you for your very quick reply.

     Hi Steve,
Microsoft has de-activated the link that I posted earlier.
Getting NORMA upgraded to run with Visual Studio 2017 is now a top priority.

Would you like to help with this?

    Ken

     Hi Ken,

Are you implying there is something I can manually tweak to get it to work?

    Thanks,

    Steve

     Steve,
The email server that you are using is rejecting emails with the message "Account temporarily unavailable."

     Hi Steve,

    Thanks for agreeing to contribute.

You will shortly receive two emails - one from me and one from the JIRA environment.

    Cheers

     Hi All,

We are now testing NORMA for VS2017.

If you would like to test a pre-release version of NORMA for Visual Studio 2017, please send an email to vs2017@ormfoundation.org  with a summary of your interest in ORM and howthe VS2017 version will help you.

     Thanks

    Ken

Re: Visual Studio 2015 Community "or above"?

As of October 2018 only the 2017 version of VS Community edition appears to be available.

And I cannot get NORMA to install in VS2008 which I ran a few years ago.

Is there another ORM platform that will accept my old .ORM files?  NORMA was so easy to use....
