  • RE: VisioToCoreModelImport.xslt

My apologies, I forgot to mention one of the required steps. In the Open File dialog, select the XML file exported from Visio. Then, click on the down arrow glyph on the right of the ''Open'' button. Select ''Open With...'', and a list of different editors should appear. Select ''ORM Designer'' from this list, and press ''OK''.

  • RE: VisioToCoreModelImport.xslt

First, export your Visio model to XML using Orthogonal Toolbox, available from http://www.orthogonalsoftware.com/products.html After that, all you need to do is open that XML file in Visual Studio, and it should automatically be converted and opened by NORMA. To be able to save that file, you will need to do a 'Save As' first. We require this ...

  • RE: Source files

Yes, there are several .sln files for various parts of the application. The main one is ''ORMPackage.sln'', which can be found in the ''trunk'' directory in our Subversion repository. SourceForge provides information about how to check out our Subversion repository at https://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=158881

  • RE: Visual Studio Class Diagram

Yes, alternate views on the ORM model are a feature that we are actively developing. We hope to have at least a relational view in place for our next release.

  • RE: Source files

The VerbalizationGenerator.xml is not installed by the setup program. You can view it in the Subversion repository at http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/orm/trunk/ORMModel/ObjectModel/VerbalizationGenerator.xml. If you would like to check out the full repository, SourceForge provides instructions at ...

  • RE: C# Code Generation

The first 1200 lines or so are essentially static. They provide support classes that are used by any and all class models that we generate. We currently generate these support classes for each model, which will actually cause naming conflicts if you have more than one generated class model in the project. We are exploring a couple of approaches ...

  • RE: Attaching .orm files to forum message

Unfortunately, we are limited in this regard by what SourceForge supports. In other words, there is no way that we know of at the moment to attach files to forum posts. We are looking into various options for how this can be improved (including potentially hosting the forums elsewhere). In the mean time, links to external sources would probably ...

  • RE: Best Project type to use for NORMA models

The UI to access the generation features is currently implemented as a Visual Studio custom tool, which is unfortunately only supported by some project types. Specifically, we have tested it with the various Visual Basic and C# project types, though it will probably also work for the J# project types. We will likely be creating an ORM project ...

  • RE: Ring Constraints

To add a ring constraint to the diagram, you should be able to just drag it on from the toolbox and hook it up to the appropriate roles using the same process through which other external constaints are hooked up to roles. Once it is on the model, you should be able to change what type of ring constraint it is through the property browser (until ...
