• Create Schema Names

I'm trying to create multiple schema names in a single ORM diagram but its not working correctly. I've tried to update the custom properties but this does not seem to work for me. Also do I tried to update the referenced entity type custom format property without success. Its currently set to ...

  • Test data

I've tried to generate test data and I really don't understand it. I there a way to test data on the model one click at a time. Is there a good article on this? Makes me want to add little arrows between entities that tell the model how many times to loop and which entities go first and which ones go next ...

  • Re: Problem with Toolbox on Windows 7 workstation

I deleted the key and did not notice anything unusual. The toolbox still works. Looks like its fixed to me. Verbalizer is the most useful feature for me and that seems to work as well. I was also able to create notes and link to entities, value types, and fact types.

  • Re: Problem with Toolbox on Windows 7 workstation

Looks like I reset the toolbox too soon b/c I can't re-create the problem now. The ORMSolutions key ORMSolutions.ORMArchitect.Core.ShapeModel.ORMShapeDomainModel has REG_DWORD = 0x00001b00 (6912) Its working great now. The only hint I can give you as to maybe why it did this is b/c when I initially tried to install it on the ...

  • Problem with Toolbox on Windows 7 workstation

On a clients machine they have my login setup up as a regular non-admin user and I asked the local admin to install the Norma tool from his acct. I installed update 2 in vs2012 from the admin acct as well and everything works great except the toolbox for an orm model. I have the same configuration on my home computer except ...

  • I have an ApprovalInfo table with approval criteria in other tables.

I'm looking for best practice in orm by asking Is there a good way in orm to check that all the required fields for the approval process (final stage for approval) is completed and ready to go? I have credit card account authorization tables and one of the last tables that gets populated is an approval table which has the date the ...

  • Re: Feature Request: Common Fact Type Patterns from the toolbox

I have an adhoc technique that may work for this case. Try to push your model to the SQL database and generate your SQL scripts. Make all the changes to names as you see fit and then create those objects in SQL, then re-import (db import) it in after changing all the names. Some of ...

  • Re: ORM Dictionary: How to organise your ORM files

The reason for having multiple files in the first place is to clearly define separate business processes and tiers of functionality. I would definitely be interested in using tools that can not only organize separate business processes but also explain how they might connect up. I know I can make a high level tab in the Norma tool ...

  • Re: ORM Dictionary: How to organise your ORM files

I do the same thing using a c# console app b/c it has a very small signature and I can focus on just the data model. Only thing I wish was that I could combine my orm models and maybe distinguish the different fact types and object type into their own sections by schema name. And maybe where two or more different ...

  • Re: Do joins make the most sense when determining states.

Thanks Ken, I re-looked over your message and I realize that you are indeed correct. This state code is being used more like an attribute and should not be used at the conceptual level. In fact when you combine several attributes like this and then condense them down like I described ...
