  • Version25, ORM2_Draw2 Visio stencil and templates

Version 25 adds these features:All solution files are included in both the older, Visio 2002 file-format, and the later, Visio 2003-2010 file-format: thus, anyone still using Visio 2002 can utilize the above new features, but those using Visio 2013 or later can resolve some format-compatibility issues that arose with using the 2002 formatYou ...

  • Re: Simple exclusion constraint and Exclusive or constraint

Hi, A word of explanation: In some situations, those constraints do act the same: The Simple Exclusion, attached to Roles 1 and 2, will have less force than the Exclusive-Or constraint ONLY IF either the entity type (A) is independent, OR that entity type has other roles besides 1 and 2. For only if at least one of those things is true, can you ...

  • Version24, ORM2_Draw2 Visio stencil and templates

Version 24 adds to each constraint shape a context-menu item to change the shape from "Asserted" to "Derived" or vice versa. The "Derived" setting changes the color of the constraint shape to a green (specifically, RGB(0,147,66)) chosen by Terry Halpin to represent derived constraints. Version 24 also gives the ...

  • Version23, ORM2_Draw2 Visio stencil and templates

Version 23 adds the inequality value-comparison constraint. Version 22 had added three enhancements more-or-less recently made to ORM2 uniqueness-constraint shapes; they are accessible here via the shape's context menu: 1) for external uniqueness constraints, setting of the join semantics to either inner join, outer join, or mixed (i.e., both ...

  • Re: Help modeling email constraints for user

Hi, For your second model, what the verbalizations need is for you to "bind" the predicates' adjectives ("primary" and "other") to the noun they qualify ("EMail") by placing hyphens immediately after them (but leave a space after each hyphen): "User(.id) has primary- ...

  • Re: Help modeling email constraints for user

Hi, Yes, that's right. But this second approach can work by re-directing the right-hand role in the 1:1, to be played by Email (change predicate text to "User has primary- Email"), and then putting an exclusion constraint between the two roles played by Email. You might also change the predicate reading in the upper fact type, to ...

  • Re: Informal references to entity types

You are correct, it took place at a location, not at a name. But I'm not clear on why, or in what respect, you find it awkward to have the fact type "Event took place at location called Location Name"     For myself, I would probably call it "Event took place at location that has Location ...

  • Re: Informal references to entity types

I just do the value-type approach. Why are you suggesting the fact type readings would necessarily be awkward?
